How to play
Type the word. Claim it. Repeat faster.
These basics work in every mode. Each mode's page on TypeSpawn adds its own rules, generated straight from the game.
Controls
- Type letters to fill your entry box. Matching words light up as you type.
- Enter or Space submits (a mode can change this).
- Backspace deletes a letter; Esc or Ctrl+Backspace clears the box.
- On phones and tablets an on-screen keyboard appears, with QWERTY, Alphabetical and Dvorak layouts.
Scoring
- Every claimed word scores points; long words and streaks score more.
- Your multiplier climbs with each word and cools off if you stop.
- Some modes use hearts: let too many words escape and you're out.
XP and levels
With a TypeSpawn account, every finished match earns XP. Levels unlock cosmetics only (name colors, keyboard skins, titles), never power, so matches stay fair.
